Industrialization in emerging markets such as electronics and food production, along with new technological developments are instilling confidence in the robotics industry as experts begin to predict what future growth will look like.

Industry experts predict annual worldwide robotics sales to grow by nearly two percent to 162,000 units, averaging six percent every year leading up to 2016. The potential for growth in key areas creates opportunities for new robotics applications, according to Hannover Messe.

"These are all topics that will be explored at the Industrial Automation show at Hannover Messe 2014,” said Marc Siemering, senior vice president for Deutsche Messe. "The value of the Industrial Automation show lies primarily in its strongly international visitor composition and in its forums and special events on robotics and system integration. This is reflected in the level of exhibitor registrations received so far, with names like Stäubli, Güdel and Sampas already confirmed. These companies exhibit at Hannover Messe because it is the only event of its kind where they can meet production managers from all the relevant international markets."

The 2014 show will feature the Robotics, Automation & Vision Application park along with a complimentary lecture forum to showcase robot manufacturers, system vendors and image processing specialists.

Located in Hall 17, a new motion control section is dedicated to robotics motion control specialists. The park will also showcase the latest solutions in human-machine cooperation, which includes collaborative robot solutions equipped with camera and image processing systems.

Also on the calendar for 2014, Deutsche Messe and the Robotation Academy invite companies to participate in the fourth annual Robotics Award. Those wishing to participate should submit products, projects and technological advancements that represent innovative solutions for the industrial automation, mobile robots and/or autonomous systems community.

Submission deadline is Feb. 12, 2014. Awards will be given by the Lower Saxony Minister of Economics Olaf Lies, on April 8, 2014 during the Robotics, Automation & Vision forum.
