Rockwell Automation and SPS IPC Drives to Host Upcoming Trade Fairs

Rockwell Automation will host its annual Automation Fair event at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, on Nov. 13 and 14.

Later in the month, the 24th SPS IPC Drives trade fair and conference will be held in the Exhibition Halls in Nuremburg, Germany, Nov. 26-28.

Now in its 22nd year, the Automation Fair is designed to help manufacturers and OEMs leverage their automation investments to achieve their business goals.

The Industry Forums at Automation Fair 2013 present examples and concepts that manufacturers have used to increase their productivity and improve the efficiency of their business. Representatives and experts from several industries will present in a number of Industry Forums that include Automotive & Tire, Food & Beverage, Global Machine & Equipment Builders, and Power & Energy Management.

An abundance of technical sessions will follow a number of tracks for attendees.

The Control System Design track will include Increasing Software Development Efficiency using Integrated Architecture application tools; Managing Firmware Upgrades; and Accelerate Your Small Machine Design with Connected Component solutions.

A What's New in Visualization track includes Vision Guided Robotics Tackle a Complex Track and Trace Challenge and discusses how how Concept Systems created an innovative solution with Hermary Opto and Nachi Robotics.

The Networks & Security track includes Steps to Help Effectively Secure Industrial Control System, as well as Practical Applications for OEMs: Secure Remote Connectivity to Automation Networks.

The Power, Motion & Motor Control track includes Advantages of Intelligent Motor Control for the Machine Builder, and the Future of Automation: Emerging Multi-Axis iTRAK Technology.

The Safety & Compliance track has Machinery Safety System Selection and Development, and Demystifying Equipment Design for Hazardous Locations. Also, How to Select the Right Machinery Safety Logic System, as well as Advanced Programming Techniques for Machinery Safety Applications, and Safety Solutions for Discrete/Process Hybrid Applications.

Among the sessions in the Sustainable Production track is Using Automation Systems to Improve Energy Efficiency.

These tracks also include hands-on labs and demonstration workshops.

Event hours are 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 13; and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 14.

Germany's Big Autumn Show
The SPS IPC Drives event is focused on electric automation technology and covers all components down to complete systems and integrated automation solutions.

In prior years, the event typically hosted more than 55,000 visitors, including nearly 400 conference attendees and 1,450 exhibitor companies.

Exhibits and conference presentations focus on industry sectors that include:

  • Control Technology
  • IPCs
  • Drive Systems/Components
  • HMI Devices
  • Industrial Communication
  • Industrial Software
  • Interface Technology
  • Electromechanical Components and Peripherals
  • Sensor Technology

Panel discussions on up-to-date automation issues take place at the forums, directed by publishing houses and associations. Event promoters say this is where exhibitors provide special presentations on their newest products and solutions for particular, individual automation tasks.

Parallel to the exhibition, the SPS IPC Drives conference offers Germany's most important user-oriented conference on automation and drive technology, entirely presented in German.

Show hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Nov. 26 and 27, and 9 to 5 p.m. on Nov. 28.
