Sustainability can mean more profits and measurable improvements for the environment. With this goal, a strategic partnership between Chang Industrial and Hai Robotics will target North American manufacturers to improve flexibility and sustainability along all aspects of the value chain. Engineering firm Chang Industrial and Hai Robotics, a provider of automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS), have started a consortium of engineering and supply chain partners to focus on autonomous systems, workforce optimization and improved information communication technology.
The two companies will focus first on turnkey products for their current customers and developing new business. They hope to grow the advanced manufacturing consortium with new partners and events in the future, focused on eliminating packaging waste and plastic storage from most aspects of the supply chain and operations. In addition to manufacturing, the consortium will target healthcare, food processing, consumer products, retail, and wholesale distribution.
To modernize today’s supply chain and improve workforce performance, according to Chang Industrial, companies need road maps to advance technology and innovation initiatives.
“This partnership allows us to provide the most flexible and cost-effective supply chain technology to our customers and adapt to their changing environment on a real-time basis augmented by artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning. The offerings from Hai Robotics equip the team with stand-alone and mixed fleet capabilities that are integral to Chang Industrial’s successful engineering and program delivery," said Chris Callura, vice president of operations and strategic partnerships at Chang Industrial.
“Hai Robotics is thrilled to collaborate with Chang Industrial to jointly innovate new solutions to automate factories and improve supply chain performance,” said Will McInnis, technical sales and automation advisor with Hai Robotics.
Part of Hai Robotics’ ASRS is its autonomous case-handling robots (ACR), which maximize vertical space and can manage the storage of good up to 32 feet high. ACR can be made to fit almost any industry standard racking structure, accommodating most types and sizes of bins, trays, cardboard cartons and a variety of containers and materials.
