Interconnect solutions provder Molex celebrates its 75th anniversary this years serving the global electronics industry, including data communications, telecommunications, consumer electronics, industrial, automotive, aerospace and defense, medical and lighting.
"Molex has built a legacy of innovation while growing from a small, local enterprise in Chicago's western suburbs to one of the largest connector companies in the world," states Martin Slark, vice chairman and CEO of Molex. "This milestone gives us an opportunity to reflect on where we’ve been, as we look forward to a promising and powerful future."
Since the company was established in 1938, Molex has been recognized by customers for developing innovative interconnect solutions such as PCB connectors, stamped circuitry, nylon plugs, color TVs, smaller connectors and modular interconnects for design problems.
Molex expanded its business globally in 1970, opening its first factory outside the U.S. in Japan. Today, the company has expanded its global markets to provide design, customer service and manufacturing capabilities, and its operation locations in Mexico, Ireland, Hong Kong, Singapore, India and China.
Molex's annual revenue exceeded $1.6 billion when the company celebrated its 60th anniversary. That number has more than doubled since then, according to Molex. The company invests at least five percent of annual net revenue in R&D. Molex developed 200 new products, received 319 patents and sold 60 billion connectors in fiscal year 2012.
