The EZ7 is an HMI in two parts; the front end with vulnerable components—the touchscreen and LCD displays—and the back end, which houses the rest of the electronics. A panel cutout is not needed. Just a ¾-in hole with a grommet is needed to pull an HDMI cable through to connect the two. Both ends are stud-mounted to the control panel. When the front end goes bad, it takes less than two minutes to replace it with a new one without disconnecting any cables from the back end. The front end is all metal with a NEMA 4X Class I, Div. 2 rating.
