With few options to automate a process in a labor intensive market, engineering, laying out, and punching and drilling back panels and enclosures are often times performed manually. If you’re one of the many interested in learning how to automate control panel manufacturing, then keep your eyes peeled for the first-of-its-kind Control Panel Automation Show, Oct. 29-30 at the Komax Facility in Buffalo Grove, Ill.
CAE system software provider Eplan has teamed up with CNC machining manufacturer Kiesling and wire processing equipment provider KomaxWire to teach manufacturers how to overcome challenges of deadlines, price pressures and a high level of fixed costs for housing, electrical equipment, packaging and wages.
"Bringing these technology partners together supports the pillars of Industry 4.0 and the smart factory," said Ray Gaynor, president of Eplan. "Our ability to automate processes today can achieve greater than 50% productivity improvement and this will only increase as companies continue to standardize their processes."
The show will highlight Eplan's Electric P8 schematic design software and Pro Panel 3D control panel design software, which allows users to automate tedious tasks during control panel design, while also producing accurate data. Eplan's Data Portal uses 51 manufacturers and more than 350,000 parts, adding accuracy to the process.
