Frost & Sullivan's Best Practices Research Recognize Memex for Machine Monitoring Systems
Manufacturing execution system (MES) provider Memex Automation has been recognized by Frost & Sullivan's Best Practices research group as an innovative leader in machine monitoring systems.
Frost & Sullivan awarded Memex's MERLIN solution with the 2013 Technology Innovation Leadership Award after giving it an evaluation rating of 9.4 out of 10. Additionally, MERLIN received a 10 out of 10 rating in the major categories of “Impact on Customer Value,” “Uniqueness of the Technology” and “Relevance of the Innovation to the Industry,” according to Memex.
Microsoft endorsed Memex’s MERLIN for being discrete manufacturing's MES solution of choice.
"Frost & Sullivan is of the opinion that Memex Automation's MERLIN solution is 'the best solution currently available on the market' for the efficient management and monitoring of equipment efficiency in the manufacturing sector," according to a Frost & Sullivan report. The report also states that an equipment manufacturer can further improve their customer value by offering them solutions to reduce cost and encourage them to adopt machine-to-machine (M2M) communication protocols.
The report also touched base on why companies fail to succeed in lean manufacturing. Two reasons include a lack of seriousness in the adoption of lean methodologies and insufficient tools available for aggregating and analyzing machine data, according to the repot.
