Their Strategic Goal is the use of Powerlink in the In-Sight Line of Products from Cognex.

Cognex, and B&R entered a technological cooperation. Their strategic goal is the use of Powerlink in the In-Sight line of products from Cognex.

"The result of this cooperation is a complete solution that incorporates visualization, control and drive technology for high-speed and high-precision product monitoring in production line operation. The Cognex In-Sight product line is optimally integrated in the B&R System via Powerlink," states Hans Wimmer, B&R Managing Director.

Cost-efficient and modular

The announcement states that machine manufacturers will benefit not only from synchronization of Cognex In-Sight products and the B&R control system, they will also benefit from easy integration of a wide range of machine designs. The new vision solution is also highly compatible with all Powerlink-based B&R product lines.

The Cognex image processing systems for checking, identifying and feeding parts feature quick start-up times and a significantly reduced amount of wiring. This means considerable savings potential for the machine manufacturer and end-user. Extensive diagnostic options facilitate smooth operation of the high-resolution application in large-scale production facilities.
