Belden Acquired Byres Security

Belden (www.belden.com), which provides signal transmission solutions, acquired Byres Security (BSI, www.tofinosecurity.com) as part of its efforts to protect industrial automation systems from cyber attack. Byres will become an independent business unit of Belden.

Belden has been using BSI's Tofino Security technology in its Eagle line of security products, and BSI uses Belden's Hirschmann hardware in many of its Tofino Security products. Bringing the two companies together, management aims to achieve market leadership in both industrial networking and industrial security.
