German HMI supplier acquires US sensor company

RaFi Group expands portfolio and North American presence with Xymox Technologies

Milwaukee-based Xymox Technologies, which has more than 40 years of experience developing and manufacturing capacitive sensors and membrane switches, was acquired by RaFi Group, a supplier of electromechanical components, electronic assemblies and systems for human-machine communication. RaFi originated when Raimund Finsterhölzl acquired ownership of the Institute for Electrical, Optical & Mechanical Engineering in 1908, it is still headquartered in Berg, Germany.

"Combining RaFi's product and technology know-how with Xymox Technologies' competencies and structures results in a powerful entity in the American market that will further drive our growth strategy." commented Dr. Lothar Seybold, CEO of the RaFi Group on the acquisition.

RaFi has emphasized the development and manufacture of complex customer-specific operating systems for human-machine communication in recent years and aims to further expand its position as an innovation leader in this sector globally. In this context, the markets in Asia and North America are the main strategic focus.
