Presto Engineering reduces cybersecurity risk and potentially harmful IP theft

Presto Engineering, which specializes in application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) design, engineering and production services, has successfully achieved ISO 27001 certification, which is the global standard for an effective information security management system. It establishes the highest standard framework to protect a company’s data and specifies how to interact with third-party organizations in a secure manner across business processes.

Presto Engineering provides ASIC design and outsourced operations for semiconductor and Internet-of-Things (IoT) device companies. With headquarters in Meyreuil, France, and operations across Europe, North America, and Asia, Presto helps companies in the development of industrial products for radio-frequency (RF), analog, mixed-signal, and secured applications―from design and tape-out to delivery of finished goods.

“We are pleased to achieve one of the highest levels of security certification in the industry,” said Cedric Mayor, CEO, Presto Engineering. “In fact, Presto is one of the very few semiconductor ASIC design and production services globally that is ISO 27001 certified. This certification process is very demanding and it is a must for Presto because we integrate our customer’s crucial intellectual property (IP) circuit blocks in ASICs and operate all customer production fulfilment processes across a very complex supply chain.”

By reaching ISO 27001 certification, organizations demonstrate to customers, partners and shareholders that they have proactively implemented measures to safeguard data in the event of a cybersecurity breach. Organizations must establish a documented process for assessing risks and vulnerabilities; develop plans for mitigating those risks; implement controls to prevent unauthorized access, use, disclosure, modification, alteration or destruction of data; and monitor and report incidents.

“Through our proprietary OCEAN web-based platform, cybersecurity fences and certifications, we trace and protect our customers’ IP from the moment they hand over their project to us,” adds Mayor. “We have raised the bar yet again to protect our customers’ data from external cybersecurity threats and potential sensitive intellectual property data beach. Presto is a unique ASIC design house that is able to co-design customers’ circuits and guarantee secured and safe data management across the entire ASIC life cycle.”
