FemWorx opens nomination process for 2025 female engineer awards

Nov. 13, 2024
Engineer Woman Award and Young Engineer Woman Award application period closes January 24

Deutsche Messe is accepting applications for the third editions of two prestigious prizes for female professionals in STEM disciplines, which will be awarded during the FemWorx career congress at Hannover Messe in April.

The Engineer Woman Award honors an expert who stands out through her innovative prowess, her strong commitment or noteworthy achievements in the technical domain.

The Young Engineer Woman Award recognizes women under the age of 30 who excel in a specialty field or demonstrate exceptional commitment beyond a primary work area.

The invitation for applications is aimed at all companies and institutions that are represented as exhibitors at Hannover Messe. Only one candidate per company can be nominated for each of the awards. The deadline for applications is January 24.

The awards will be presented in a ceremony during the FemWorx career congress on April 3-4 at Hannover Messe. An independent jury comprising members of the Congress Advisory Board evaluates the applications and nominates three finalists for each of the two awards. The two award winners will be announced at the congress.

Participation is free of charge, and the application documents are available online.

In 2024, the Engineer Woman Award went to Yvonne Groth. She has made a name for herself through her outstanding commitment to the automation sector and is considered a pioneer in the field of sustainability strategies for industrial production.

Sahana Shastry, the winner of the Young Engineer Woman Award 2024, conducted impressive research in the sphere of renewable energies and has made decisive contributions to energy technology through her interdisciplinary approach.

Dr. Christina Franke won the 2023 Engineer Powerwoman award. And Lisa Ihde won the inaugural Young Engineering Award in 2023.

The FemWorx Career Congress will take place as part of Hannover Messe. Participants can experience two days of motivation and narratives at the networking and discussion event for female leadership in the STEM field.

Under the lead theme of "Industrial Transformation," exhibiting companies at Hannover Messe from the general engineering, electrical, digital and energy industries will gather to showcase products.

The main exhibition areas in 2025 are Smart Manufacturing; Digital Ecosystems; Energy for Industry; Compressed Air & Vacuum Technology; Engineered Parts & Solutions; Future Hub; and International Trade & Investment. The exhibition program is complemented by a series of conferences featuring around 1,600 speakers. The 2025 Partner Country is Canada.
