Automation distributor splits roles of president and CEO

Mouser Electronics will promote Jeff Newell to president, effective January 1, while Glenn Smith will continue as CEO
Beginning January 1, the roles of president and CEO will be split at Mouser Electronics, a global distributor of semiconductors and electronic components. Glenn Smith will continue as CEO. Jeff Newell will be promoted to the position of president. Newell will be the third president in Mouser's history.
"With the dedication and support of countless employees, Mouser has grown from $10 million in sales when I became president in 1988 to over $3 billion in revenue today," said Smith.
Jeff Newell joined Mouser in 2013 as senior vice president of products. He has more than 30 years of experience in semiconductor sales, distribution, international business development and management.
"Jeff has delivered great results here at Mouser," said Smith. "His experience and judgment will further strengthen Mouser's global position globally. I am confident in his leadership, commitment to our business, and his ability to drive the company to succeed."
