Both companies agreed on technical and business cooperation and mutual promotion of the integrated RAD SecFlow Secure IIoT Gateway with LoRaWAN and edge computing and Actility’s ThingPark IoT platform

RAD, industry specialist in industrial IoT and edge computing solutions, and Actility, expert in IoT connectivity solutions, have announced a strategic partnership in order to facilitate deployment of IoT use cases for power, gas and water utilities, smart cities and transportation systems.

Both companies agreed on technical and business cooperation and mutual promotion of the integrated RAD SecFlow Secure IIoT Gateway with LoRaWAN and edge computing and Actility’s ThingPark IoT platform. Three-time IoT Evolution award winner SecFlow now allows a seamless connection to Actility’s ThingPark LoRa network servers.

IoT gateways use LoRaWAN to connect smart devices to the cloud for data processing and management. RAD’s SecFlow includes onboard server functionality capable of hosting third-party containers. The SecFlow combines functionalities that would typically require separate dedicated appliances. Data collected from LoRa field sensors is backhauled over secured links into cloud IoT platforms connected to Actility’s ThingPark, such as Microsoft Azure, AWS IoT Core, IBM Watson, Google CloudIoT and PTC Thingworx.
