Collaborative partnerships and customized offerings propel CED in manufacturing-technology support

Consolidated Electrical Distributors (CED), winner of the Partner Ecosystem Award at Rockwell Automation’s PartnerNetwork Conference earlier this year in Los Angeles, is part of a nationwide group of distributors supporting manufacturing technology. Along with Gray Solutions, Endress+Hauser, Mettler Toledo, SMC and Pepper+Fuchs, CED earned the award for “Easing the pain of ATEX hazardous area compliance using pre-certified components and enclosures.”

CED utilized its ecosystem of partners to help create a customized solution that simplifies ATEX hazardous-location compliance. "This was made possible through our knowledgeable solution consultants and our strong relationships with the best-in-class partners of the Partner Ecosystem," explains Parker Clark, division marketing and recruiting lead at CED.

The Industrial Solutions Network, an interconnected group of manufacturing-technology companies working together in a common mission to bring together staff, resources and technology-delivery partners to design, build and install automation, is part of CED. It also includes Mosebach, KP, Baldwin Hall, E&H, Resenhouse, Royal Industrial, CES and Tri State distributors. The company goes by different names in different local markets, but each shares a common focus and vision to provide resources and support nationally, while striving to keep the decisions, inventory and knowledge local to help local manufacturing and contractor markets.

After 60 years, with more than 700 locations nationwide, CED has become one of the largest electrical distributors in the country. “Value-added resellers are not just about reselling products,” notes Justin Brunken, marketing director. “It's connecting people and companies to accomplish solutions only together we can provide to keep modern manufacturers safe, secure, efficient, compliant and modernized.”

CED’s partner relationships, which Rockwell Automation helps as a catalyst, along with CED’s own industrial-solution-focused consultants, are what differentiates how it can help manufacturers and partners get to where they want to be, stresses Brunken. “We utilized that curated Partner Ecosystem and worked with Gray Solutions, Pepperl+Fuchs, Endress+Hauser, Mettler Toledo and the SMC to create a customized solution that simplifies ATEX hazardous-location compliance,” he says. “This was made possible through our knowledgeable solution consultants and our strong relationships with the best-in-class partners of our partner ecosystem.”

CED is constantly collaborating with its customers, partners and solution consultants to create unique and customizable solutions to fit the customer’s individual needs, adds Brunken. “By working hand-in-hand with our customers and with our willingness to find an overall solution to customer problems, we are able to achieve more by connecting together,” he notes.

As technology continues to advance, so will CED’s partner network, services and solution consultants, explains Brunken. “No single partner may know all the technology to come, but, with the right partners, you can solve anything,” he says.
