Industry association partners include ARM, MESA International and NEMA

Hannover Fairs USA and Deutsche Messe, the organizers of the world’s largest manufacturing show Hannover Messe and its North American edition, Hannover Messe USA, announced that Digital Industry USA 2019 has partnered with top smart manufacturing industry associations to provide educational content for the trade show’s on-floor education sessions from September 11–12 in Louisville, Kentucky. Industry association partners include Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing (ARM), MESA (Manufacturing Enterprise Solutions Association) International and the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA). Each of these associations will host discussions by industry leaders selected to showcase a variety of trending Industry 4.0 and Industrial Internet of Things topics, field experiences and case studies.

ARM will spotlight a variety of speakers in the Digital Industry USA Robots/Cobots Learning Lab. In addition to drawing speakers from its more than 200 member companies, Arnie Kravitz, ARM’s CTO, will discuss the industry’s technical vision and Suzy Teele, ARM’s head of marketing and communications, will discuss robotics and workforce issues and innovations.

"In keeping with ARM’s overall mission to increase U.S.-based manufacturers’ competitiveness around the world, ARM’s speakers will address the challenges that prevent manufacturers from using robotics and the solutions that are available or will be available across the technology and workforce landscape,” said Teele. "ARM shares a common mission with Digital Industry USA to help manufacturers be successful through the use of robotics, AI and automation. We both understand how important manufacturing is to America’s economic success."

MESA International will host three on-floor workshops focused on the “how” and the “why” to utilize Industry 4.0 to digitize operations. MESA workshops: Seeking Common Ground for Smart Manufacturing; The Road Less Traveled: The Journey Toward Smart Manufacturing; The Value of Smart Manufacturing: Techniques for Finding the Payback for New Projects will provide training and actionable plans for deploying smart factory solutions.

During Digital Industry USA, NEMA will host several panel discussions, drawing from NEMA staff and its more than 325 member companies plus speakers from DXC Technology and The Association for Manufacturing Technology (AMT). Discussions will center on solving the business problems of implementing IIoT. Kirk Anderson, industry director for the NEMA Industrial Automation and Systems Division, will discuss digital twin. NEMA member company Rockwell Automation will discuss smart sensors and member company Schneider Electric will present augmented reality in the smart factory.

NEMA is focused on energizing our members and end- users to partner to incorporate IIoT into their facilities," said Anderson Unlocking this is the key to being relevant in this digitalized economy. NEMA has partnered with DXC and other trade organizations outside of the U.S. to solve the challenge of Industry 4.0 implementation into the plant. The Hannover Messe trade show in Germany and now Hannover Messe USA and Digital Industry USA are furthering the implementation of IIoT in the U.S., showcasing the advantages of communication between devices and humans in the U.S. manufacturing sector."
